All World Cowboy Romance

I just had the last ten days off from work, and I pretty much have been sick that whole time. I'm getting better, just in time to head up to NYC to do two Christmas tree lighting ceremonies (one at a downtown Brooklyn corporate park, the other outside downtown Brooklyn's newest discount department store). Hopefully I won't end up ill again after spending two days standing around in the cold, watching local developers hand local children empty boxes wrapped as Christmas gifts (really) before counting down to trees lighting up, which may or may not happen on cue. Don't even get me started about the plastic Santa with the button on his belly.
Thanksgiving was pleasant, especially with the minimal travelling. Went to my mom's for the day. Saw my baby nephew, who is very charming for someone who can't hold up the weight of his own head. Fatherhood has completely mellowed out my brother. It seems to suit him pretty well.
Otherwise, the week has been spent getting wedding bullshit done (the save the date cards are sent!), cleaning house (it looks like our storage area can now store something other than old newspapers, bottles and cans to be recycled), and putting up our Christmas tree. This is our first year with a tree at our place. It's a cheap artificial one. Fake as it may be, the needles kepp falling off of it as if it were a real tree.
